Fortnite Refunds

“Fortnite Refunds” FTC sends payments to Fortnite players who were charged for unwanted items

The Federal Trade Commission is sending 629,344 payments totaling more than $72 million to U.S. Fortnite players who were charged for unwanted purchases and filed a valid claim before October 8, 2024.

If you filed a claim after October 8, you don’t need to do anything else now. The FTC is still reviewing claims filed after that date and will provide more information shortly.

Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite, has agreed to pay money to settle FTC allegations related to in-game purchases. According to the FTC, the company illegally charged players for unsolicited purchases, allowed children to collect unauthorized fees without their parents’ permission, and blocked some users who objected to the illegal fees from accessing content they had purchased.

The settlement also forces the company to obtain affirmative consent before charging users, and prevents it from blocking players’ access to their accounts for contesting unauthorized charges.

You will receive the type of payment you selected during the claim process.

If you receive a check, cash it within 90 days.

If you receive a PayPal payment, accept it within 30 days.
